Welcome

Welcome to my personal website! My name is Roman Krtsch, I am a researcher and evaluator at the German Institute for Development Evaluation (DEval). Prior to my work at DEval, I worked as postdoctoral researcher at the Universities of Konstanz and Tübingen. I received my PhD in Political Science from Osnabrück University.

I am passionate about using data to analyze socially relevant phenomena, particularly related to development cooperation, civil society activism, democratization and (post-)war dynamics. My previous work has been published in the Journal of Conflict Resolution, Political Geography, and Zeitschrift für Friedens- und Konfliktforschung.
